COMPOSITIONS :
Biogastron® Chewable tablet, each chewable tablet contains :
Dried Aluminium hydroxide gel 400 mg
Magnesium trisilicate 400 mg
Simethicone 50 mg
INDICATIONS :
For reduce symptoms related to hyperacidity, gastritis, peptic ulcer, duodenal ulcer, with signs such as nausea, abdominal pain, heartburn, flatulence and sensation of fullness in the stomach.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATIONS :
Adults : 1 – 2 chewable tablets, 3 – 4 times daily.
Children 6 – 12 years : ½ – 1 chewable tablet, 3 – 4 times daily.
To be administered 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after meals and before bedtime, tablet should be chewed.
CONTRAINDICATION :
Do not administer to patients with severe impaired renal function, because it can lead hypermagnesia (increase Magnesium levels in the blood).
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS :

- Continuous use for more than 2 weeks is not recommended, except by doctor’s direction.
- When using other peptic ulcer medications such as Cimetidine or Tetracycline antibiotics, it should be administered with interval of time 1 – 2 hours.
- Not recommended to be given in children below age of 6 years, except by doctor’s direction, since the cause of the disease is generally unclear.
- Use with caution in patients with low Phosphor diet and long-term usage, since it can decrease Phosphor levels in the blood.
DRUG INTERACTIONS :
Concomitant use with Cimetidine or Tetracycline may decrease the absorption of those drugs.
ADVERSE REACTIONS :
Common adverse effects are constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and the symptoms will disappear with discontinuation of the drug.
