COMPOSITION :
Antidia® Tablet, each tablet contain : Loperamide HCl 2 mg.
DESCRIPTIONS :
Antidia® contain Loperamide HCl (equivalent with Loperamide) available in tablet 2 mg.
INDICATIONS :
Antidia® is indicated for treatment of non-specific acute and chronic diarrhea.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATIONS :
- Antidia® dosage for non-specific acute diarrhea :
Initial dose : 4 mg (2 tablets), followed by 2 mg (1 tablet) after the defecation.
The dose should not exceed 16 mg per day.
- Antidia® dosage for chronic diarrhea :
Initial dose : 4 mg (2 tablets), followed by 2 mg (1 tablet) after the defecation.
The dose should not exceed 16 mg per day.
The administration should be stopped if there is no sign of improvement within 48 hours.
OVERDOSAGE :
Loperamide ovedose may result in constipation, nausea, and central nervous system depression.
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
- Children under 12 years old.
- Pregnant and lactating women.
- Acute colitis due to the development of toxic megacolon.
- In conditions where constipation should be avoided.
- Patients with hypersensitivity to Loperamide.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS :
- Care should be taken for patient with hepatic dysfunction and renal impairment such as renal function failure.
- Not to be administered for patient with acute diarrhea due to coli, Salmonella and Shigella.
- Not to be administered for the first day of diarrhea to complete the defecation.
- Do not exceed the maximal dose because it causes constipation.
- Not to be administered for diarrhea patient with high fever or bleeding faeces.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- In case of overdose, Naloxone can be given if Morphine intoxication like symptom occurs.
